Dwight Ferguson My name is Dwight B. Ferguson, Jr. I am the President and Chief Executive Officer of NFS. Welcome to NFSFacts.com.

First of all I want to thank you for visiting this website, and for your interest in NFS. I believe NFS is an important part of this community, and that people should care about significant activities in their community - this web site is provided for just that purpose. NFS has been part of the Erwin community for over 50 years, and is proud to provide high quality fuel to our Navy, as well as recycling cold war nuclear materials for use in commercial power facilities.   more >

Environmental Facts
NFS works hard to assure that our operations have no adverse environmental consequences. Our analyses, reviewed by the NRC and State of Tennessee, continue to indicate that the local air and water are safe and NFS operations are able to operate at levels more than 1000 times less than the applicable limits. In another way of looking at it, our operations have less consequences to a member of the public that the radiation received by an hour of air travel, or from regular television watching. In this section of NFSFacts.com some of the details and data associated with assessment of the local environment are provided to help you better understand how our commitment to protecting you is fulfilled.
